Govt Extends Retail Fertiliser Sales Indefinitely

The Ministry of Agriculture has directed retailers involved in the distribution of chemical fertilisers to continue their activities until further instructions.

According to a circular issued by the ministry, retailers will continue to purchase fertilisers from authorised main dealers and sell them to farmers at prices fixed by the government.

The circular, signed by Joint Secretary Dr Mohammad Jahangir Alam, said the existing arrangement for the distribution and sale of chemical fertilisers through retailers will remain in force until further notice.
