Gulshaner Chameli’ Gets Bigger as Badhon Joins Cast
Bangla Press Desk: Popular actress Azmeri Haque Badhan has joined the cast of “Gulshaner Chameli”, a film that explores politics, abuse of power and the dark realities of elite society. Earlier, it was confirmed that popular West Bengal actress Madhumita Sarcar will play the lead role in the film. The project marks the Bangladeshi film debut of the Tollywood actress, widely known for her role as Pakhi.
Badhan will portray a lawyer in the film. The actress said she had preliminary discussions with director Mohammad Iqbal and agreed to be part of the project because she was impressed by the story. However, she has not yet signed a formal contract; the signing is scheduled for the first week of August.
Director Mohammad Iqbal said that pre-production is currently underway and shooting is expected to begin later this year. Although the film was announced about five years ago, work could not start earlier due to various reasons.

The director also confirmed that the film’s mahurat ceremony will be held on 1 August, when the full cast will be officially announced.
Written by Abdullah Zahir Babu, “Gulshaner Chameli” revolves around a sex worker who, despite committing no crime, repeatedly becomes a victim of the brutal game of power. The producers are planning to release the film during Eid next year.
Besides Badhon and Madhumita Sarcar, veteran actress Rozina, actor Amin Khan, and Ashish Khandaker are also expected to appear in the film.
Badhon was last seen in Tanim Noor’s “Bonolota Express”. Her upcoming films, “Master” and “The Difficult Bride”, have been selected for different international film festivals and are currently awaiting release.
