IGP instructs police to remain neutral during polls
Bangla Press Desk: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Baharul Alam has instructed all members of the Bangladesh Police to carry out their duties with complete neutrality during the upcoming 13th parliamentary election.
“Police members must perform their duties with utmost caution, patience and professionalism during the election period to ensure that the polls are held in a free, fair and peaceful manner,” he said.
The IGP made the remarks while addressing a pre-election meeting attended by police officers and force members at the Civic Centre of Chattogram district Police Lines on Saturday.
He said the Bangladesh Police has been working with sincerity and professionalism to maintain overall law and order in the country and to protect the lives and property of the people.
He stressed the need to deliver easy and effective services at people’s doorsteps to further strengthen people-friendly policing.
Baharul said that while performing duties, police members must ensure the use of body-worn cameras to enhance transparency and accountability, thereby further strengthening public trust.
