Iranian President to visit Russia tonight; will hold talks with Putin
Bangla Press Desk: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian is set to travel to Russia on Monday night (October 26) to attend a major summit of gas-exporting nations. According to the semi-official Iranian news outlet Tasnim, he will hold a direct meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin during this brief, one-day visit to Moscow.
On Tuesday, Pezeshkian is scheduled to deliver an address at the international summit of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF). He may also hold separate bilateral meetings with some of the other world leaders attending the event.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi noted that Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov visited Tehran on October 19; the upcoming meeting between Putin and Pezeshkian is intended to translate the discussions held during that visit into concrete action.
The meeting will cover the expansion of commercial and military cooperation between the two nations, as well as detailed discussions on recent regional and international crises. It is worth noting that the GECF comprises four of the world’s leading natural gas suppliers: Iran, Russia, Qatar, and Algeria.
