Islamic Movement announces month-long program to mark anniversary of July Uprising
Bangla Press Desk: The Islamic Movement of Bangladesh has announced a month-long program to mark the second anniversary of the July Uprising. Announcing the program, the organization's Secretary General Maulana Gazi Ataur Rahman said, "The memory of July is still fresh in our minds. The blood of the youth and the cries of the injured still inspire us. But our progress in implementing the expectations of the July Uprising is not up to the desired standard." The program includes a mass procession led by the party's senior Nayeb-e-Amir Mufti Syed Muhammad Faizul Karim in Dhaka on Friday, July 10, the celebration of July Awakening and Resistance to Dictatorship Day organized by the Islamic Chhatra Movement on July 18, a nationwide discussion meeting organized by the Islamic Youth Movement on July 19 on the occasion of Resistance to Fascism Day, and a nationwide mass procession on August 5, the Fall of Dictatorship Day. In addition, month-long visits to the graves of July martyrs, meetings with the families of the martyrs, exchange of views with the injured and oppressed, a July march of the student movement demanding the preservation of the memory of July and the implementation of the charter, dialogue and prayer mahfil in memory of July of treachery and awakening, graffiti drawing and wall writing, a nationwide screening of the student movement's July documentary to present the anti-fascist struggle, and a competition to commemorate the days of July struggle and fighting will be organized.
