Jail Inmate Dies While Undergoing Treatment at DMCH

Bangla Press Desk:  A 40-year-old under-trial prisoner died at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) after falling ill at Keraniganj Central Jail early Thursday.

The deceased was identified as Md Shahin Alam, son of Md Bashir Uddin of Islampur upazila in Jamalpur ditrict, UNB reports. 

Inspector Habibur Rahman, in-charge of Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) police camp, said Shahin fell ill inside the jail on September 30.

Later, he was taken to the emergency department of DMCH where he died around 5:30 am, said Amirul Islam, a prison guard.

The body of Shahin was kept at the hospital morgue for autopsy.
