Bangla Press Desk: Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Assistant Secretary General and Head of the Central Publicity and Media Department Ehsanul Mahbub Zubayer on Friday rejected recent remarks made by the spokesperson of Islami Andolan Bangladesh, describing them as incorrect and misleading.
In a statement, Zubayer said that during a press conference organised by Islami ANdolan Bangladesh on Friday afternoon after Juma prayers, the organisation’s Joint Secretary General and spokesperson, Gazi Ataur Rahman, made comments attributed to a responsible leader of a Christian community organisation that were not accurate.
He said the matter was immediately clarified by Jamaat during a press briefing at the time.
Referring to another comment by Ataur that “Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has deviated from Allah’s law and Islamic ideology,” Zubayer said the claim was also false.
He alleged that such remarks were made with the intention of creating confusion among the public.
He emphasised that Jamaat is an Islamic organisation guided by the ideals of Allah and His Messenger (peace be upon him).
Responding to another allegation, Zubayer said that Jamaat always maintains political decorum and engages with all political parties on the basis of mutual respect and courtesy.
He said the party does not engage in behavior that violates political norms.
He concluded by calling on Ataur to refrain from making statements that could create confusion among the public.
