Jamaat launches election campaign from Dhaka-15
Bangla Press Desk: Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami today formally launched its election campaign through a rally in Dhaka's Mirpur area ahead of the 13th national polls slated for February 12.
The rally began at the Mirpur Adarsha High School field at 3:00pm with the recitation from the Holy Quran.
Jamaat Ameer Shafiqur Rahman, also a candidate for the Dhaka-15 constituency is scheduled to address the rally as the chief guest.
Prior to that, several leaders of the Jamaat-led 10-party electoral alliance, including National Citizen Party convener Nahid Islam are expected to speak.
Central and metropolitan leaders of Jamaat will also address the gathering joined by the organisation’s leaders, activists and supporters.
At the outset of the rally, Saif Khan, son of July martyr Abdul Hannan, delivered a speech.
