Jatiya Party extends greetings to nation on holy Eid-ul-Fitr
Bangla Press Desk: Jatiya Party Chairman and former foreign minister Barrister Anisul Islam Mahmud and Secretary General ABM Ruhul Amin Howlader have extended greetings to people across the country on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, the biggest religious festival of the Muslims.
In a statement issued on Wednesday (18 March), the leaders conveyed their greetings to citizens from all walks of life, including religious scholars, journalists, intellectuals, cultural activists, public officials, law enforcement personnel, expatriate Bangladeshis, and leaders and supporters of all political parties.They said Eid-ul-Fitr comes after a month of fasting, which teaches restraint, sacrifice, patience and compassion, and urged that these values be reflected in personal, social and state life.Drawing lessons from the holy fasting, the government should play a sincere and responsible role in establishing peace, stability, justice, democracy and good governance, as well as ensuring the political and human rights of all people, they hoped.
The leaders also urged people to promote unity, harmony and mutual respect, setting aside hatred and division.
They paid tribute to the party’s founder, former president HM Ershad, recalling his contributions to rural development and national progress.Source: daily Sun
