Bangla Press Desk: The announcement of the Jahangirnagar University Central Students’ Union (JUCSU) election results has been delayed, with the Election Commission now expecting to release the final outcome by Saturday evening.
Speaking to journalists on Saturday at around 11:00 am, Election Commission member Professor Lutful Elahi explained the reasons behind the delay.
He said that the large number of candidates — 179 in total, with up to 30 contesting for a single post — has made the counting process more time-consuming.
He further highlighted that the vote counting system remains manual rather than digital, and many of the teachers involved are not fully accustomed to the process.
