JUCSU election results likely by evening, delay attributed to inexperience
Bangla Press Desk:  The announcement of the Jahangirnagar University Central Students’ Union (JUCSU) election results has been delayed, with the Election Commission now expecting to release the final outcome by Saturday evening. Speaking to journalists on Saturday at around 11:00 am, Election Commission member Professor Lutful Elahi explained the reasons behind the delay. He said that the large number of candidates — 179 in total, with up to 30 contesting for a single post — has made the counting process more time-consuming. He further highlighted that the vote counting system remains manual rather than digital, and many of the teachers involved are not fully accustomed to the process.
“Still, our women teachers have shown a ray of hope. Their contribution and sense of responsibility should be an example for everyone. On common matters, unity is essential,” Professor Elahi remarked. Addressing rumors of a resignation within the Election Commission, he clarified: “We have not received any resignation letter at the commission. So I cannot say anything about that.” This article was originally published on Daily Sun. [Bangla Press is a global platform for free thought.
