Kazi Iftekhar Rahman receives Bangladesh Achievers Award 2025
Bangla Press Desk: Journalist Kazi Iftekhar Rahman has been honoured with the Bangladesh Achievers Award 2025 in the Best Journalist (International News) category. BNP Vice Chairman Dr Asaduzzaman Ripon and renowned actor Azizul Hakim handed over the award at a grand ceremony held on Sunday night at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Centre in Dhaka.
Currently serving as Senior Newsroom Editor at private television channel NTV, Kazi Iftekhar—popularly known as Kazi Iftekhar Shuvo—presents and analyses global news and current affairs.
He began his journalism career in 2012 with Daily Kaler Kantho and later worked with Daily VorerPata, Priyo.com, Independent Television and Somoy Television. A member of the National Press Club, Dhaka Sub-Editors Council (DSEC) and Barishal Divisional Journalists Association (BDJA), he has also been involved in anti-corruption activism since his school days. For over a decade, he has been an active member of Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB).
Born in Saliabakpur village, Banaripara upazila, Barishal, Iftekhar completed his Master’s in Education and Research from the University of Dhaka in 2016. His previous accolades include the Global Business & CSR Award, Sher-e-Bangla Iconic Award and Star Bangladesh Award.
The fourth edition of the Bangladesh Achievers Award was a star-studded event celebrating excellence across various fields. The jury included actress Rozina, singer Khurshid Alam, playwright and director Zeenat Hakim, choreographer Ivan Shahriar Sohag and journalist Al Masid Rono.
In film, Shihab Shaheen won Best Director, Toma Mirza Best Actress, and Siam Ahmed Best Actor. Azad Abul Kalam and Masuma Rahman Nabila won Breakthrough Performance. In OTT, Anam Biswas won Best Director, with Chanchal Chowdhury and Tanjin Tisha winning the acting honours. Other notable recipients included Runa Khan, Samira Khan Mahi, Mushfik R Farhan, Khairul Basar, and Dilshad Nahar Kona.
