Khairul Haque Released From Jail After Year-Long Detention

Bangla Press Desk:   Former chief justice ABM Khairul Haque was released from jail on Wednesday after being granted bail in all the cases in which he had been shown arrested.

Confirming the matter, Khairul’s lawyer Monayem Nabi Khan Sohel said his client was released from the special prison inside the Dhaka Central Jail around 4:15pm.“He (Khairul) is now at home, and his physical condition is being monitored. If necessary, appropriate treatment will be arranged for him,” Sohel added.

Khairul Haque was arrested on 24 July 2024. 

He was shown arrested in nine cases and secured bail in all of them before being released after spending more than a year in prison.
