Khaleda Zia’s condition remains unchanged for three days: Dr Zahid

Bangla Press Desk:   BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia's personal physician Dr AZM Zahid Hossain has said that the BNP chairperson’s health condition has remained unchanged for the past three days. He said she is able to receive the treatment being provided.

Dr Zahid, also the standing committee member of BNP, briefed journalists in front of Evercare Hospital in Dhaka’s Bashundhara residential area on Saturday night.

He said Evercare had arranged the best possible medical care for Khaleda Zia. A team of doctors from Bangladesh, the United States, the United Kingdom, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, and China is jointly supervising her treatment. He added that BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman’s wife, Dr Zubaida Rahman, remains in constant communication with the medical team, while Tarique Rahman also keeps regular updates on her treatment.

“The responsibility of treatment lies with the doctors, and they are doing their utmost,” Dr Zahid said. “Allah alone is the giver of recovery. I urge everyone to pray for her,” he added.

Dr Zahid also said the medical board may consider taking Khaleda Zia abroad for treatment if her condition allows. He noted that any such decision would be communicated when appropriate.
