Khaleda’s condition more stable after nearly a month of treatment: Dr Zahid

Bangla Press Desk:   BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s critical health condition is comparatively more stable today (Friday) than it was over the past month, said her personal physician Dr AZM Zahid Hossain.

Addressing reporters in front of the Evercare Hospital, Dr Zahid said Khaleda endured a “minor surgical intervention” on Friday, signaling her relatively improved condition.

Her treatment is ongoing under a team of foreign and local doctors at the hospital’s Critical Care Unit (CCU), he added. A CCU is a hospital cabin with ICU-like facilities, he informed reporters.

Khaleda’s family and the party have asked the countrymen to pray for her recovery, the doctor said.

On 23 November, Khaleda was admitted to Evercare Hospital for multiple complications including arthritis, diabetes, kidney-related issues, vision impairment and lungs infection.
