Khulna and Jashore rallies to be addressed by Tarique Rahman
Bangla Press Desk: BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman will address two election rallies in Khulna and Jashore on Monday after concluding a three-day campaign tour in the northern region.
Tarique is scheduled to leave Dhaka by helicopter in the morning and arrive in Khulna first. He will address an election rally at around 12pm at the Khalishpur Prabhati High School ground. He is expected to fly to Jashore by helicopter at around 1:30pm the same day.
At a press briefing held at a city hotel in Khulna on Sunday afternoon, BNP Student Affairs Secretary and Khulna-3 constituency candidate Rakibul Islam Bakul said that BNP candidates from Khulna, Bagerhat and Satkhira districts would be present at the rally.
He said the BNP chief would outline his party’s plans for the development of Khulna and the wider south-western region, focusing on economic revival and industrial growth.
BNP National Executive Committee Information Secretary and Khulna-4 candidate Azizul Bari Helal, Khulna-2 candidate Nazrul Islam Manju, BNP Assistant Organising Secretary Jayanta Kumar Kundu, Khulna Metropolitan BNP President Advocate Shafiqur Alam Mona, and former mayor Moniruzzaman Moni, among others, were present at the press briefing.
BNP leaders said Tarique Rahman wants to hear directly from workers in Khulna’s neglected industrial belt, which is why the rally has been organised in the industrial area.
They said Tarique Rahman would present a clear and timely development roadmap, including plans to reopen closed mills and factories, create employment opportunities for youths, construct sustainable embankments in coastal areas, ensure gas connections, and develop Mongla Port.
From the Khulna rally, Tarique Rahman will introduce BNP candidates from 14 parliamentary constituencies in Khulna, Bagerhat and Satkhira districts before departing for Jashore.
Meanwhile, the Jashore rally will be held at the Upashahar College ground on the outskirts of the city to avoid congestion and traffic disruption, according to district BNP leaders.
At the rally, BNP candidates from six parliamentary constituencies in Jashore, along with candidates from a total of seven districts, will be introduced.
