Kriti has now vented her frustration over that outfit controversy.

Bangla Press Desk: Bollywood actress Kriti Sanon once found herself at the center of a controversy regarding her attire in a Raksha Bandhan advertisement. A section of netizens raised questions about the outfit she wore in the ad for this traditional festival.
The controversy escalated to such an extent that the advertisement was eventually withdrawn. Now, Kriti has opened up about that past incident.
The topic of that Raksha Bandhan advertisement came up recently during a conversation with Kareena Kapoor Khan. Kriti still finds it hard to believe how a specific part of her outfit became such a major subject of debate.
The actress remarked, "I can't believe that panel discussions were held regarding the *choli* I was wearing." Kareena also agreed with Kriti's sentiments.
The controversy stemmed from a Raksha Bandhan advertisement for a jewelry brand, in which Kriti was seen tying a *rakhi* on her brother.
The actress also tied a *rakhi* on her pet dog, a move that drew objections from some critics.
After the advertisement was released, many people on social media questioned Kriti's choice of clothing. They argued that her attire was inappropriate for an advertisement celebrating a traditional festival like Raksha Bandhan.
However, Kriti did not shy away from responding to the criticism.
She questioned on social media why there is still so much debate regarding what a woman should wear. She argued that the style and presentation of Indian attire have evolved over time, and therefore, one's culture should not be judged based on their clothing.
Kriti further stated that culture and tradition are not merely reflected in clothing but are also embedded in a person's thoughts and mindset.
Subsequently, Kriti made several posts discussing women's clothing, societal perspectives, and the patriarchal mindset, although she did not explicitly mention the Raksha Bandhan advertisement in those posts.
