Launch fares have gone up.

Bangla Press Desk: Launch fares have been increased by 23 poisha per kilometer for the first 100 kilometers. Additionally, fares for distances exceeding 100 kilometers have been raised by 20 poisha.

The launch fares have been hiked in response to the rise in fuel oil prices.
Earlier, launch owners had submitted a letter to Shipping Minister Sheikh Rabiul Alam proposing a fare increase of 51 to 60 percent per passenger-kilometer. In that letter, they proposed raising the fare for the first 100 kilometers from the existing Tk 2.95 to Tk 4.45, and for subsequent kilometers from Tk 2.52 to Tk 4.02.

On Wednesday morning, the Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges issued a notification increasing bus and minibus fares by 17 poisha per kilometer.
