Bangla Press Desk: A Supreme Court lawyer has served a legal notice to the government and the Election Commission (EC), urging the introduction of a proportional representation (PR) system in the upcoming parliamentary election.
Md Mahmudul Hasan, a lawyer at the Bangladesh Supreme Court, sent the notice on Sunday to the Election Commission, the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, and the Ministry of Home Affairs.
In the notice, Hasan called for an immediate constitutional amendment and the enactment of a new law to ensure that the February 2026 general election is held.
