LNG Stocks Run Out, Excelerate Terminal Stops Gas Supply
Bangla Press Desk: LNG supply from Excelerate Energy’s terminal in Cox’s Bazar’s Moheshkhali has stopped amid a cargo shortage
It cut imported gas supplies to 561 million cubic feet per day by 8pm Wednesday.
A senior Petrobangla official said the terminal stopped operating because its suppliable LNG stocks had run out, not because of a mechanical failure.
Petrobangla data showed the two terminals were supplying 661 million cubic feet per day to the national grid at noon.
Domestic gas fields were supplying 1.63 billion cubic feet at noon, taking total supply to 2.29 billion cubic feet.
By 8pm, domestic supply had fallen to 1.62 billion cubic feet, while total national-grid supply dropped to 2.19 billion cubic feet.
Overall supply therefore fell by 104 million cubic feet, or 4.5 percent, in eight hours
