Mahdi Amin made spokesperson of BNP polls steering committee
Bangla Press Desk: Mahdi Amin, a member of the BNP’s central election steering committee, has been appointed its spokesperson for the 13th parliamentary election and the referendum on the July National Charter, BNP Standing Committee member Nazrul Islam Khan said on Sunday.
“From now on, Mahdi Amin will hold regular briefings as the spokesperson of the polls steering committee,” he told reporters after the first meeting of the steering committee in Gulshan, Dhaka.
The BNP has formed a 41-member election steering committee, with Nazrul Islam Khan as chairman and Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi as member secretary.
The committee was declared in a press release sent to the media on Thursday (1 January) night. Md Ismail Zabiullah has been made the chief coordinator of the polls steering committee.
Nazrul added that the BNP has always advocated for free and fair elections, and both the party and the steering committee will work to ensure such an election. “We hope for a peaceful election, and the BNP will play its role in ensuring a peaceful voting process,” he said.
