Man Surrenders After Allegedly Killing Wife and Mother-in-Law in Dhaka
Bangla Press Desk: A man surrendered to police after allegedly killing his wife and mother-in-law in Dhaka's Kalabagan area on Sunday morning (2 August).
The incident took place around 9:30am in the Kitchen Goli area on Al Amin Road.
The victims were Farzana Akter Ratri and her mother, Firoza Begum.
Kalabagan Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Fazle Ashiq said an argument broke out between the husband, Hridoy, and his wife Ratri over a family dispute.
Firoza intervened in an attempt to calm the situation, after which Hridoy allegedly stabbed his wife before attacking his mother-in-law.
Ratri died at the scene. Firoza was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital in critical condition, where doctors declared her dead.
Police detained Hridoy after he arrived at the police station following the incident.
