Met Office forecasts heavy rain in Dhaka, 3 other divisions

Bangla Press Desk:  The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecast heavy rainfall across four divisions, including Dhaka, as unsettled weather conditions persist in several parts of the country.

On Friday, the Met Office said gusty winds accompanied by rain are likely in some areas, while daytime temperatures may remain largely unchanged and night temperatures could rise slightly nationwide.

It also warned that the mild heatwave currently sweeping through Khulna, Jashore, Satkhira and Bagerhat is expected to persist.

According to the forecast, light to moderate rain or thundershowers, accompanied by temporary gusty or squally winds and lightning, may occur at many places in the Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions.

Moderately heavy to heavy rainfall is also likely at a few places in the Rajshahi, Dhaka and Chattogram divisions, and at one or two places in the Khulna and Barishal divisions.

The Met Office also said rainfall activity has increased in the country’s southeastern regions.
