Met Office Predicts Rain, Gusty Winds in Several Areas

Bangla Press Desk: Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) today forecasted rain in different parts of the country in next 24 hours commencing from9 am. 

"Light to moderate rain/thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at a few places over Rajshahi, Khulna, Barishal & Chattogram divisions and at one or two places over Rangpur, Mymensingh, Dhaka & Sylhet divisions," said a Met Office bulletin issued this morning.

Besides, it said, moderately heavy falls may occur at places over the country.

Mild heatwave is sweeping over Mymensingh & Sylhet divisions and the districts of Dhaka, Tangail, Faridpur, Gopalgonj, Kishoregonj, Narayangonj, Rajshahi, Pabna, Sirajgonj, Khulna, Jashore & Chuadanga and it may abate from many places, the bulletin said.

Day temperature may fall slightly and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.

The highest temperature on Monday was recorded at 37.5 degrees Celsius in Sreemangal, while today's minimum temperature was 22.5 degrees Celsius in Narayanganj. 
In the last 24 hours (till 06 am today), the highest 30 millimetre rainfall occurred in Mongla.

The sun sets at 5:55 pm today and rises at 5:48 am tomorrow in Dhaka.
