Mirza Fakhrul condemns attack on Osman Hadi, calls for strong action

Bangla Press Desk:   BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Friday condemned the attack on Sharif Osman Hadi, independent candidate for Dhaka-8 constituency and spokesperson of Inqilab Moncho, who was shot and hospitalised earlier in the day.

Posting on his verified Facebook page, Fakhrul said, “There is no place for political violence in a democracy, at any time. Regardless of ideology, anyone who resorts to fear or force must be collectively rejected.”He expressed deep concern over the incident, which occurred in the heart of Dhaka while the nation is preparing for the upcoming elections, and wished for Osman Hadi’s speedy recovery.

Fakhrul also urged the interim government and relevant authorities to take firm measures to curb terrorism and ensure accountability.
