In a condolence message, Modi remarked that few actors possessed the intense acting prowess, distinct personality, and unique screen presence that Nana Patekar did. He left a mark of extraordinary versatility and creativity in every role he portrayed. Many of the characters he played will remain etched in the memories of audiences across generations.
Modi also recalled Nana Patekar's forthright nature, noting that the actor never hesitated to express his beliefs and opinions. He was admired by people for his direct and candid way of speaking.

Nana Patekar suffered a severe cardiac event at his residence early this morning, Thursday (October 8), at 5:20 AM. He was subsequently taken to the hospital.
