Naogaon records country’s lowest temperature at 6.7°C
Bangla Press Desk: Naogaon is shivering under a moderate cold wave. The season’s lowest temperature of 6.7 degrees Celsius was recorded in the district at around 6:am on Wednesday. This is the lowest temperature recorded anywhere in the country so far this year.
Earlier, at around 6am on Tuesday, Rajshahi recorded the season’s lowest temperature of 7 degrees Celsius.
Due to icy northern winds and high moisture content in the air, daily life in the district has been severely disrupted by intense cold. People are unable to go outside for work, resulting in a decline in their income.
Many residents are trying to keep warm by burning straw and dry leaves. Meanwhile, the number of patients suffering from cold-related illnesses has increased.
Mizanur Rahman, Acting Officer-in-Charge of the Badalgachhi Weather Observatory, said that adverse weather conditions have been affecting daily life for the past three weeks. At 6am on Wednesday, the temperature dropped to 6.7 degrees Celsius, marking the lowest temperature nationwide this season.
A moderate cold wave is currently sweeping over the district, and temperatures may drop further over the next few days.
