Nasiruddin Patwary Branded Unwelcome in Narayanganj
Bangla Press Desk: Leaders of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) in Narayanganj have declared National Citizen Party (NCP) Chief Coordinator Nasiruddin Patwary “unwelcome” in the district, following what they described as offensive remarks made by NCP leaders against Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.
Speaking at a protest rally on Saturday (1 August) afternoon, Narayanganj Metropolitan BNP Joint Convener Fateh Mohammad Reza Ripon warned that the party would resist Patwary if he attempted to visit Narayanganj in the future.
The demonstration was organised by the Narayanganj Metropolitan BNP to protest against what it called “indecent remarks” made by NCP leaders about the prime minister.
Addressing the rally, Ripon said the comments made by NCP leaders would have no impact on "the successful Prime Minister Tarique Rahman" and criticised them in strong terms.The protest rally marched through Chashara, circled Rail Gate No. 2 and returned to Missionpara, where the rally was held.
The meeting was chaired by Narayanganj Metropolitan BNP Member Secretary Abu Al Yusuf Khan Tipu. Among those who addressed the gathering were Metropolitan BNP Joint Conveners Anwar Hossain Anu, Fateh Mohammad Reza Ripon, Advocate Rafiqul Islam and Awlad Hossain, as well as Narayanganj Sadar Thana BNP President Masud Rana.
