NCP fields candidate in Khaleda Zia’s seat
Bangla Press Desk: National Citizen Party (NCP) has fielded its candidate in the constituency of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia ahead of the upcoming 13th national parliamentary election.
NCP released its first-phase candidate list at its Banglamotor office in the capital on Wednesday (10 December), announcing nominees for 125 constituencies.
In Dinajpur-3, the NCP’s district convener AHM Shamsul Muktadir has received the party nomination, while BNP has announced Begum Khaleda Zia as its candidate for the same seat.
Earlier, NCP chief coordinator Nasiruddin Patwary had said the party would not field a candidate in Khaleda Zia’s constituency.
NCP Member Secretary Akhtar Hossain said, “We have completed the distribution of nomination papers. Today, we have released the preliminary list.”
Earlier on 3 November, BNP announced the names of 237 potential candidates for the upcoming 13th parliamentary election. According to the announcement, the party’s Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia will contest from three constituencies—Dinajpur-3, Bogura-7 and Feni-1 constituencies.
