NCP holds meeting with Consensus Commission over July Charter
Bangla Press Desk: A delegation from the National Citizen Party (NCP) held a meeting with the National Consensus Commission on Saturday morning to discuss the implementation of the ‘July National Charter 2025’. The meeting began around 10:15 am at the LD Hall of the National Parliament.
The NCP delegation included party Secretary Akhtar Hossain, Joint Conveners Sarowar Tushar and Jabed Rasin, Khaled Saifullah, and Joint Secretary Zahirul Islam Musa.
During the meeting, the NCP delegation addressed legal aspects of the charter and other issues related to its implementation.
Commission's Vice-Chairman Ali Riaz and other members were present at the meeting. Earlier on 17 October, the charter signing ceremony took place at the South Plaza of the National Parliament in the presence of the Commission's Chairman and Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus.
Of the 30 parties and alliances participating in the dialogue, 25 signed the charter pledging to implement the commission’s reform decisions. The NCP, citing uncertainties regarding the charter’s implementation, did not sign, and four other parties also withheld their signatures due to various objections.
On 22 October, the Commission held a meeting with experts to discuss the implementation of the July Charter.
