NCP withdraws show-cause notices against 5 leaders
Bangla Press Desk: The National Citizen Party (NCP) has withdrawn show-cause notices against five of its top leaders, including southern and northern region chief organisers Hasnat Abdullah and Sarjis Alam, respectively. NCP Joint Member Secretary Saleh Uddin Sifat said in a press statement on Saturday, adding that Nasir Uddin Patwary, chief coordinator, Tasnim Zara, senior joint member secretary and Khaled Saifullah, joint convener of the party, were served the show-cause notice. The NCP sent the show-cause notice to them on 6 August and later, they submitted their replies to the NCP party office. After reviewing their responses, it was found that the alleged incident did not constitute a breach of party discipline.
Following the directives of Convener Nahid Islam and Member Secretary Akhter Hossain, the show-cause notices were withdrawn. Earlier, on 5 August, allegations arose that these leaders travelled to Cox’s Bazar on a personal trip during a state-level programme marking the first anniversary of the “July Uprising.” The incident sparked wide discussion at the time, leading to the issuance of the show-cause notices.
