New date announced for the posting of 14,000 primary school teachers.
Bangla Press Desk: The posting of the 14,384 newly appointed teachers under the 'Assistant Teacher Recruitment 2025' for government primary schools has been postponed once again. The Ministry of Primary and Mass Education has set October 18 as the new date for their posting, rescheduling it from the previously announced October 11.
This information was conveyed through a ministry order issued on Thursday (October 8).
Simultaneously, the duration of the orientation training for the newly appointed teachers has been extended. According to the new decision, the training will continue until October 15. The Directorate of Primary Education has been requested to take the necessary measures in this regard.
Earlier, on October 1, the newly appointed teachers formally joined their respective district primary education offices. Their posting was originally scheduled for October 4 but was subsequently postponed to October 11. Now, the date has been pushed back a second time to October 18.
The five-day introductory orientation training for the newly appointed teachers began on October 4.
**Recommendation for the Appointment of 14,384 Teachers**
Over 1.08 million candidates applied for the assistant teacher recruitment examination. Of these, 69,265 were selected for the viva voce (oral) examination.
In the results published on the Directorate of Primary Education's website on February 8, 2026, 14,384 candidates across 61 districts were recommended for final appointment.
Subsequently, the selected candidates underwent medical examinations, dope tests, and multi-stage police verification processes. Following a lengthy administrative procedure, the district primary education offices published the list of appointees on September 24. They were instructed to join by October 1.
**Uncertainty Arises Due to Exclusion During Verification**
Uncertainty emerged among the candidates after several names were dropped during police verification, despite the individuals having received final recommendations. In protest, many candidates who were excluded from the appointment list launched a movement.
Later, the majority of the previously excluded candidates received their appointment letters.
Meanwhile, with the posting date for the newly appointed teachers rescheduled to October 18—marking the second postponement—the wait for them to join their respective workplaces has been further prolonged.
