New Gini Properties attack: Former major general arrested

Bangla Press Desk: Detectives have arrested retired major general Golam Mohiuddin Chowdhury over an attack on New Gini Properties in Dhaka’s ECB Chattar.

He was arrested from a house in Segunbagicha under Ramna Thana around 2:45pm on Wednesday, Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s Detective Branch chief Additional Commissioner Shafiqul Islam said, bdnews24.com reports. 

A team from the DB’s Gulshan Division made the arrest, he said.

Mohiuddin Chowdhury is the fourth accused named in the case filed at the Cantonment Police Station.

The case, filed on Sept 27, includes charges under Sections 143, 147, 148, 149, 447, 448, 323, 324, 325, 326, 307, 379, 380, 427, 114 and 34 of the Penal Code.

Six others have already been arrested by Cantonment Police and the Detective Branch over the attack, vandalism, looting and gunfire at New Gini Properties.
