Bangla Press Desk: Online Editors Forum, a platform of publishers and editors of the country's online news portals, has been formed.
A nine-member convening committee was formally announced on Tuesday following a meeting of editors and publishers.
Sharifuzzaman Pintu, editor and publisher of Rajneeti.com, was elected convener, while Golam Iftekhar Mahmud, editor and publisher of Dhaka Stream, was nominated member secretary.
The committee was formed following a proposal made by Sk Nazrul Islam, editor of Khobor Sangjog, which was then supported by the editors and publishers present at the meeting held today.
The initiative was taken on July 8, when the editors and publishers of 11 online news portals met at the Jatiya Press Club and decided to form the organisation.
The executive members of the convening committee are Tawhidul Islam Mintu, editor of Banglanews24, Sk Nazrul Islam, editor of Khobor Sangjog, Zeaul Haque, editor of jagonews24.com, Udisa Islam, editor of Bangla Tribune, Harun Jamil, editor of Dhaka Mail, Md Shahadat Hossain, editor of Desh Shamachar, and Tapas Roy, editor of RisingBD.
