Bangla Press Desk: A newborn has died as a local syndicate in Shariatpur allegedly blocked an ambulance carrying the critically ill baby to a Dhaka hospital for better treatment.
The incident took place in Sadar upazila on Thursday.
Despite repeated pleas from the baby’s relatives, the ambulance was held up for 40 minutes, causing the death of the newborn, the family said.
According to the police and the family, Ruma Begum, wife of Nur Hossain Sardar from the Koneshwar area of Damudya upazila in the district, gave birth to a baby boy through a caesarean section at New Metro Clinic in Sadar upazila on Thursday afternoon.
