Newborn found dead at Dhaka’s Chawkbazar

Bangla Press Desk:   Police recovered the body of a male newborn, aged around one day, from a lane in Chandni Ghat area of Chawk Bazar in Dhaka capital on Tuesday afternoon.

The newborn, found in an unconscious state wrapped in black plastic, was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where physicians declared him dead.

Sub-inspector Ashraful of Chawk Bazar police said they collected CCTV footages from the area and trying to identify those responsible.

The body has been sent to the morgue for autopsy and legal action will be taken accordingly, he said.
