Bangla Press Desk: Actor Vijay, whose Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam or TVK will make its political debut at next year's assembly election in Tamil Nadu, has urged people to consider him as the candidate in all constituencies.
At a rally in Chennai on Thursday evening, he announced that he would fight from Madurai East, but there was a twist: That he would be the candidate in all seats in Madurai and people should vote for TVK no matter who is the candidate.
Speaking at the fledgling party's second state conference in Madurai, filled with thousands of cheering fans, he ruled out any alliance with the ruling DMK or the BJP, insisting on going it solo.
Vijay, the last in a line of actors who have successfully transitioned to politics and left a lasting mark on the state, made it clear that he was not interested in playing second fiddle to the state's established Dravidian parties like the AIADMK and the DMK. "I am a lion. I'm marking my territory. The TVK is an unstoppable force which is here to dominate". His stance toards the BJP also rules out an alliance with the BJP's partner in the state, the AIADMK.
