No obstacles for innocent Awami League workers to return to normal life: Jamaat Ameer
Bangla Press Desk: Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, the Leader of the Opposition in Parliament and the Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami, has stated that there is no obstacle for innocent Awami League members to return to a normal life.
He made these remarks on Tuesday evening (October 27) at a discussion meeting organized by Jamaat-e-Islami in Kakrail, Dhaka, to mark 'Paltan Tragedy Day.'
Shafiqur Rahman said, "There is no barrier for innocent Awami League members to return to a normal life. However, those who are guilty must face trial on this very soil."
Describing the Awami League as a "club of fascists," he added, "The Awami League will certainly have to face the consequences for the killing of Jamaat leaders through fabricated cases."
"Jamaat opposed independence in 1971, yet today, they are the ones deciding who is a 'freedom fighter' and where someone should be buried."
The Jamaat Ameer warned that Bangladesh would not be handed over to any new form of fascism.
Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Mia Golam Parwar alleged, "The current government has become an obstacle to realizing the spirit of the '24 [the 2024 mass uprising]. By treading the path of fascism, the BNP is heading toward the same fate as the Awami League."
Meanwhile, Jamaat-e-Islami Nayeb-e-Ameer ATM Azharul Islam remarked, "History bears witness that whenever the BNP has come to power, it has repeatedly demonstrated failure. Now, the BNP is attempting to emulate the Awami League."
The Jamaat leader further noted that all those who attempted to eradicate Jamaat have ended up in the "dustbin of history." He asserted, "Jamaat is not something as fragile as a drop of water on an arum leaf; it is an ideological party rooted in the masses of this country."
