Amidst this rapid technological race, Bollywood actress Urvashi Rautela has initiated legal action. She alleges that a Los Angeles-based AI company has profited by using her name, images, and videos without her consent, although she has not publicly disclosed the company's name.
On Tuesday (September 29), Urvashi Rautela and her team issued a joint statement announcing that appropriate legal measures are being taken against the company. The compensation sought is substantial—reportedly reaching up to ₹7,000 crore.
Her team claims that the unauthorized use of her name, images, and videos has driven the company's valuation into the hundreds of billions of dollars.
The statement also conveys a stern message to the company. This incident raises a broader question: in the age of AI, who owns the rights to new content created using a celebrity's face, name, or archival footage? As technology advances rapidly, new legal complexities regarding these rights are emerging alongside it.
Notably, Urvashi Rautela recently appeared in the second season of the series *Inspector Avinash*. Prior to that, she acted in the film *Welcome to the Jungle*, starring Akshay Kumar.
