Nur attacked with intent to kill: Mirza Fakhrul
Bangla Press Desk:   BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has said that Nurul Haque Nur, president of Gono Odhikar Parishad, was attacked with the intention of killing him.He made the remark while speaking to journalists after visiting Nur at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) on Tuesday (September 2) afternoon. Fakhrul said, “Whoever attacked him, the assault was carried out with the intent to kill. That is very clear.” He added that Nur’s condition has improved compared to before, but remains critical.
“The areas where he sustained injuries are very fatal. He has also suffered brain injuries and bleeding. After speaking with doctors, I have learned that there has been no negligence in his treatment. He still cannot eat on his own—he has to take liquid food through a pipe. His recovery will take time, and he needs to be sent abroad for better treatment,” Fakhrul said.The BNP Secretary General further stated, “If law enforcement agencies can attack our leaders like this even after the uprising, imagine what they are doing to ordinary people. I absolutely cannot accept this. The judicial investigation ordered by the Chief Adviser should be completed quickly, and steps should be taken.
