Bangla Press Desk: The Dhaka University Teachers’ Network has observed that while there were some irregularities and mismanagement during this year’s DUCSU election, the polls could not be termed unacceptable.
Professor Gitiara Nasreen presented the observations at a press conference in front of the returning officers’ office at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban on Tuesday night.
Professor Gitiara Nasreen said, “It was an unprecedented election as we have not seen such participation in years. We noticed some flaws and mismanagement, but no major irregularities. At no point did we feel the election was unacceptable.”
She hoped the next election, expected within a year, would be more transparent. “If preparations, including academic leave, are ensured earlier, student participation will increase. Then DUCSU will be able to carry out its responsibilities properly,” she added.
