Oil prices will fall when the war ends: Trump

US President Donald Trump.

Bangla Press Desk: US President Donald Trump has claimed that the ongoing conflict with Iran will end very soon. He also predicted that oil prices in the global market would drop rapidly once the conflict concludes. Additionally, Trump asserted that the United States has already dismantled Iran's nuclear capabilities.
Trump spoke to reporters on Wednesday (October 7, local time) while traveling from Washington to San Antonio, Texas, to attend a Republican election rally.
He said, "In terms of what we need to do, this is a war. We must ensure Iran is free of nuclear weapons. We have stripped them of their nuclear power. Had they possessed nuclear capabilities, we would have faced a situation unlike anything seen before."
Trump added, "Right now, their entire country is virtually destroyed. The war will end very quickly, and once it does, oil prices will plummet."
However, amidst Trump's optimistic remarks about the end of the conflict, a counter-statement has emerged from Iran. Tehran also rejected the US President's claims regarding the resignation of Iran's Energy Minister.
Fatemeh Mohajerani, the Iranian government spokesperson, dismissed Trump's claim that the Energy Minister resigned due to pressure from the US-led conflict. According to an Al Jazeera report, she described Trump's statement as a futile attempt to mask his own failures.
Mohajerani stated that the Energy Minister's resignation was not a sign of weakness but rather an example of flexibility within a stable political system.
Earlier, while speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Trump had claimed that Iran's Energy Minister had just resigned.
According to him, the minister had told him, "We have no economy, we have no oil, we have nothing."
However, the Iranian government spokesperson disagreed with Trump's statement. She also rejected attempts to portray the Energy Minister's resignation as evidence of Iran weakening under the pressure of the conflict. Source: The Economic Times
