One Dies, Another Hurt in Manikganj Traffic Accident

Bangla Press Desk:  A motorcyclist was killed, and another rider was seriously injured on Friday afternoon after a bus hit their motorcycle on the Dhaka-Aricha Highway in Manikganj.The accident occurred around 5pm in the Pukhuria Stone Bricks area.

The deceased was identified as Jubayer Hossain of Daulatpur in Manikganj. According to eyewitnesses and Police, the motorcycle was traveling along the highway when a Dhaka-bound Selfie Paribahan bus struck it from behind. The impact threw both riders onto the road, causing severe injuries. Locals rescued them and rushed them toward a nearby hospital, but Hossain died on the way.

Md. Harunar Rashid, Barangail Highway Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC), said the driver fled the scene with the bus to the Manikganj bus stand area and escaped. Police have since seized the bus, and the body has been sent to the Manikganj Medical College Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
