‘One Durga in Front of Another’: Puja Chery’s Picture Wins Hearts
Bangla Press Desk: Dhallywood actress Puja Chery is no longer seen on the silver screen as frequently as she once was. Her most recent big-screen appearance was in the film Masud Rana, released during the Eid-ul-Adha holiday. However, the film, directed by Saikat Nasir, had been completed much earlier. There have been no reports of her signing a new film in recent months. Instead, rumours about her personal relationships and possible marriage have sparked considerable discussion among social media users on several occasions.
This time, Puja Chery is immersed in the festivities of Sharadiya Durga Puja. Like Hindu devotees across the country, celebrities from the entertainment industry are also joining the celebrations. Dressed in a variety of traditional outfits, they are visiting temples and puja mandaps and sharing joyful moments with fans and followers on social media.
Puja Chery has been visiting temples and puja mandaps regularly since the first day of the festival. She has offered anjali at the feet of Goddess Durga and prayed for blessings. On Saptami, she visited the much-discussed puja mandap in Banani and shared moments from the visit on Facebook.
On Monday (October 19), the actress, known for Poramon 2, once again captivated admirers on Maha Ashtami. She wore a white sari with a red border and delicate patterns, accessorised with bangles covering her wrists and light jewellery around her neck. Though simple, her look was striking, lending her face an almost divine glow as she visited the puja mandaps.
On Monday night, the actress posted a series of photographs on Facebook. Judging by the pictures, she appears to have attended a village puja celebration on Ashtami. The mandap was located inside a residential property. She also posed for photographs beside a pond at the same location.
Alongside the pictures, Puja Chery wrote in the caption: “On the sacred morning of Ashtami, after offering anjali at the feet of Mother Durga, I pray that all sorrow comes to an end, all darkness is dispelled by light, and a flame of new hope awakens in every heart.”
She added that a handful of flowers, boundless faith and prayers for the well-being of everyone in the world be offered at the feet of the goddess. She also extended her heartfelt wishes to everyone on the occasion of Maha Ashtami.
Fans and followers have also expressed their admiration for Puja’s festive look. One social media user commented, “The most beautiful woman. Love you.” Another wrote, “I wish I could see you in person at least once.” A third admirer remarked, “One Durga before another.”
