Past Ban on Jamaat Recalled by Party Chief During AL Period
Bangla Press Desk: Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer and opposition leader Shafiqur Rahman recalled the ban on his party and its student wing Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir on Saturday, as the day marked two years since the political decision taken by former prime minister Sheikh Hasina’s government.
In a social media post, Shafiqur said political realities and government decisions may change over time, but every decision leaves a lasting mark on history.
He further said that bans, repression and administrative measures may be temporary, but "ideals, the pursuit of justice and people's convictions cannot be suppressed for long."Concluding the statement, Shafiqur said history's judgment is ongoing and that the ultimate judgment rests with Allah, praying that people remain steadfast on what it described as the path of truth.
