Police reshuffle: Nine DIG, SP-rank officers transferred
Bangla Press Desk: The government has transferred nine Deputy Inspector Generals (DIG) and Superintendents of Police (SP) of Bangladesh Police on Sunday.
Two separate notifications were issued on Sunday by the Home Ministry in this regard, UNB reports.
According to the notifications, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of the Special Branch (SB) Md Iqbal Hossain has been made DIG (Dhaka Range), while Barishal Metropolitan Police (BMP) Commissioner (DIG) Md Ashiq Saeed has been appointed as DIG (Rajshahi Range).
DIG at the Police Headquarters Abu Raihan Muhammad Saleh has been made as Commissioner (DIG) of the BMP.
Meanwhile, DIG (Barishal Range) Md Mostafizur Rahman has been made as DIG (Khulna Range), DIG (Khulna Range) Md Rezaul Haque has been transferred as DIG (Industrial Police), and DIG (Rajshahi Range) Mohammad Shahjahan has been appointed as DIG of the Armed Police Battalion (APBN).
In a separate notification, Special Super of Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Mohammad Badrul Alam Molla has been made Superintendent of Police (SP) of Jhalakathi district, while Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shahriar Mohammad Miajy has been appointed as SP of Faridpur district.
SP of Faridpur district Md Nazrul Islam has been transferred as Special Super of the CID.
The notifications said the orders, issued in the public interest, will take effect immediately.
