Political tensions ease between Rumin Farhana and Hasnat Abdullah
Bangla Press Desk:  Hasnat Abdullah, leader of the Nationalist Constitutional Party (NCP), revealed on Saturday evening that the recent political tension between him and Rumin Farhana, a senior BNP leader, seems to be subsiding. Speaking at a gathering at Chhatarpur School premises, in Brahmanbaria’s Bijoynagar, Hasnat mentioned that Farhana had reached out to him personally, inquiring about his well-being and even sending a gift. “There were some misunderstandings between us, but she sent someone to inquire about me and also sent a gift. It’s a positive gesture, and we welcome it,” Hasnat stated during his speech at the event, which was held to discuss the ‘New Constitution’. The announcement comes after a period of political friction, including sharp exchanges between the two leaders, especially following an incident at the Election Commission. Both parties had exchanged strong words on social media and talk shows, sparking widespread debate.
Hasnat also addressed the gathering on issues of elections and reforms, stressing the need for unity. "We not only need elections but also reform and justice. We must all stand together for that," he said. Touching on the attack on Nurul Haque Nur, Hasnat added, “This incident is a message for us. We’ve seen in the past that even Tarique Rahman had to leave the country after signing an undertaking.” The event also featured speeches from local NCP leaders including Azizur Rahman Liton, Mohammad Ataullah, and Dr. Mahmud Mitu, as well as others from the party's central and district leadership. This article was originally published on Daily Sun.
