Bangla Press Desk: There would be 2,950 more polling centres and 19,000 more polling rooms in the upcoming general election compared with the previous election, as per estimates by the Election Commission (EC).
In the January 2024 elections, there were 42,148 polling centres and in the February 2026 elections the tally would potentially rise to 45,098. Similarly, the number of polling rooms in the centres would rise from 2,61,564 to 2,80,564.
The EC made the disclosures in a meeting held at its Secretariat on the progress of training polling officials.
