Prince Appeals to Opposition for Help in Easing People’s Plight
Bangla Press Desk: Criticising the statement of opposition leader Shafiqur Rahman, BNP Joint Secretary General and Mymensingh District Council Administrator Syed Emran Saleh Prince has said the opposition should help the government in reducing people’s suffering instead of carrying out programmes that cause public nuisance.
“BNP did not choke the voice of the opposition anywhere, be it parliament or the streets. The statement that ‘We are being forced to come to the streets because we cannot talk about people’s suffering in the parliament’ is a mere excuse,” Prince said.Prince made the remarks while speaking as chief guest at an event organised by Mymensingh district (North) unit of Jatiyatabadi Mohila Dal at the Mymensingh District Council premises on Saturday.
Speaking at the event, Prince added, “Prime Minister Tarique Rahman or BNP is not responsible in any way for the ongoing power and energy crises. The opposition leader himself has blamed the Awami League government for these crises many times. Yet, blaming BNP for the crises and launching street movement is nothing but an example of irresponsibility.”
Senior Mohila Dal leaders from the local unit were present at the event.
