Public Administration Ministry gets new secretary

Bangla Press Desk:  Md Ehsanul Haque has been appointed as the senior secretary of Ministry of Public Administration on a contractual basis, the ministry said in a notification on Sunday morning.

He previously served as the senior secretary at Road Transport and Highways Division (RTHD).

The public administration ministry’s previous secretary Mokhlesur Rahman was withdrawn on 21 September amid allegations that he was involved in irregular staff appointments.

In this role, he will continue to hold the rank of senior secretary as per his contract.

Mokhles Ur Rahman was brought back from retirement on a two-year contract after the interim government assumed office following the fall of the previous government last year.

However, during his tenure, disputes reportedly arose in the public administration over transfers, postings, and promotions.

Allegations of irregularities were also raised regarding the appointment of deputy commissioners.
