Bangla Press Desk: Qatar Charity has distributed food aid as part of its humanitarian initiative to support host communities affected by the Rohingya refugee crisis in Cox’s Bazar.
The aid reached 12,090 individuals across nine distribution points adjacent to the Rohingya camps, read a press release issued by its Dhaka office on Monday.
The host communities, which have long extended support to the displaced Rohingya population, are themselves facing mounting challenges.
These include environmental degradation, deforestation, landslides, water scarcity, and increasing competition for resources such as land, employment, healthcare, and education. The pressure has not only strained local infrastructure but has also given rise to social tensions between refugees and residents.
